Patti Hupp, Head Coach, Club Owner
Coach Hupp is a certified USATF Level 2 (multi events), USATF Level 2 (jumps), USTFCCCA Technical Coach and USATF Cross Country Specialist coach. She is currently the Head Girls Track and Field coach at Tremper High School in Kenosha. She has been involved in the sport of track and field/cross country as a coach or athlete for 27 years. She competed at the varsity level in high school, and was on one of the top 4x200 meter teams in the state and was also on the Illinois state champion cross country team in 1995. She competed at the collegiate level as a scholarship athlete at Indiana Wesleyan University in the 200m, 400m, and relays. She has also raced three half marathons and the Chicago Marathon in 2004. She is currently working to attain USATF Level 3 certification. Patti coaches the distance team and high jump during club season.
Prentis Wilbourn, Horizontal Jumps
Coach Wilbourne is an experienced former collegiate jumper and will be coaching long and triple jump for us. He is currently the long and triple jump coach for Case High School in Racine, WI. He is a Carthage College graduate and 3-time CCIW Indoor Conference Triple Jump Champion, 3-time indoor Conference long jump runner-up and Carthage College Triple Jump outdoor record holder.
Don Faber, Assistant Coach, Hurdles
Coach Faber has been involved in the sport of track and field as an athlete, parent, or coach for close to 40 years. He currently works as strength/hurdles coach for Tremper High school. He worked as a volunteer coach at Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream, IL for many years and most recently worked as the hurdles coach at Harvest Christian Academy in Elgin, IL. Don was also an all-star football player at Notre Dame School for Boys in Niles, IL, known for his lightning fast speed. Coach Faber has also competed in track and field and cycling as a Masters athlete.
Nick Sturycz, Assistant Coach, Sprints/Pole Vault
Coach Nick is currently the Head Girls track and field coach at Case High School in Racine, WI. At Case, in addition to his general head coaching responsibilities, he coaches sprints, high jump, and relays. He has brought many athletes to the state meet in Lacrosse, proving his high level of expertise. Coach Nick is the sprints and pole vault coach for the Phlyerz. He also competed as a college level sprinter at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
Steve Hupp, Club Administrator
Coach Hupp is currently the administrator of the Phlyerz organization. He competed in high jump and the 400m at the high school level as well as Varsity Basketball. He is currently the LGM of Carmax Kenosha and has worked for the company for 17 years.
